What the work is like
It is hands-on. Pulling cable through a pre-war ceiling, terminating a panel so the next person can read it, mounting an access point where the survey said it should go, configuring a switch, provisioning a phone, showing a front-desk manager how to pull footage. Some days are all of those.
It is on site, around the client’s hours. A lot of the disruptive work happens before a store opens or after a clinic closes. Schedules are set with that in mind, and they respect that you have a life outside the job.
You see the whole system. Because we do the cabling, the network, the cameras, the doors and the phones on one job, you learn how they fit together rather than one narrow piece. That is rare in this trade and it is worth something.
Clean work is the standard. Labeled runs, dressed racks, documented configurations. It is slower on the day and faster for the following five years, and it is what we are hired for.
It is a small team. Direct communication, no layers, and more responsibility as you show you can carry it. We are growing, and joining now means growing with it.
